Hubert Michalus
Research Assistant
Hubert is an MSc candidate at the University of British Columbia’s School of Population and Public Health, specializing in Health Economics. He is also a Research Assistant on the PORTIA study, working under the supervision of Dr. Eugenia Oviedo-Joekes.
Hubert holds a BSc (Honours) in Political Science from Université de Montréal, where he gained experience in policy analysis and quantitative methodologies used in social sciences, studying topics such as political communication, the impact of algorithms, electoral politics, and decision-making. His research interests lie at the intersection of accounting, health economics, and public health, applying management accounting methods to determine the costs of activities associated with delivering evidence-based addiction treatments. In his free time, Hubert enjoys reading about healthcare financing, exploring new technological advancements, playing tennis, and is an avid fan of Formula One.
