Located at St. Paul’s Hospital, Advancing Health is an interdisciplinary collective founded to pursue excellence in health outcomes research. In addition to conducting its own research, the Centre’s other primary function is to offer methodological expertise to other researchers, including assistance with study design, statistics, health economics, data management, and grant facilitation for both health outcomes research and clinical trials. The Centre consists of 80 faculty members and over 140 staff and research personnel.

This position is responsible for the operations of the organization by overseeing several departments at the Centre for Health Evaluation and Outcome Sciences and overseeing the administration of the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN) National Centre. Reporting to the Centre Director/National Director, and working closely with the Advancing Health Associate Director and other executive leadership, the Director of Operations provides senior leadership in the areas of strategic planning, resource management, policy implementation, operations, risk assessment, research administration, research support service administration, and the overall administration of the Centre and Network.
Apply NowThe Scientist, Health Economics, is responsible for co-managing Advancing Health’s health economics program, which includes guiding the strategic direction of the program, supervising program staff, consulting with clients on health economics-related research queries, as well as obtaining research and service grants.
Apply NowThe Clinical Research Educator (CRE) uses adult learning principles and instructional strategies to adapt, deliver, and evaluate CANTRAIN educational programs to enhance and promote clinical research competency, high standards of regulatory compliance, and facilitate clinical research professional development activities.
The CRE is responsible for the onboarding and ongoing education of clinical research staff, students, and clinician researchers—from novice to expert abilities—using the CANTRAIN clinical trial training streams learning pathways. Educational programming is expected to be variable in delivery mode and style, and sensitive to the role complexities found in a research hospital.
Apply NowUnder the supervision of Dr. Bohdan Nosyk, the Project Coordinator will assist in the planning, development, and implementation of various studies. Dr. Nosyk leads a multidisciplinary team of statisticians, health economists, and public health researchers engaged in an international portfolio of leading-edge health economic and health services research projects focusing on HIV/AIDS and substance use disorders. This team offers outstanding research opportunities with access to world-class linked administrative databases, a breadth of methodological skills, and a focus on improving health outcomes for marginalized populations. This position entails research and grant administration in addition to involvement in research projects with potential for publication and additional professional development opportunities.

Major responsibilities include: leading and contributing to econometric analysis of data, the development of economic models, research dissemination, and other research-related activities.
