Posted on

CHÉOS Scientists have received funding from CIHR.

Drs. Aslam Anis, Joel Singer, and their colleagues at the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN) have received a Planning and Dissemination Grant to host a symposium at the AIDS 2016 Conference, which takes place from July 18–22 in South Africa. The symposium will discuss the CTN, their Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, research best practices, and more.

CHÉOS Scientists Drs. Linda Li and Kam Shojania are Co-Investigators on a Planning and Dissemination Grant with Principal Investigator Dr. Sharan Rai to develop resources to improve health care and outcomes for people with gout.

Finally, Drs. Peter Dodek (principal applicant), Rick Sawatzky, and investigators from Canada, USA, and Northern Ireland were awarded a grant from the CIHR Knowledge to Action competition to develop and test strategies to reduce moral distress in critical care. Over a two-year period, researchers will employ previously tested methods from participatory action research to address this important issue in ICUs in Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health.
